• Battle Royale Shooters A relatively recent and highly popular subgenre, battle royale games drop a large number of players into an ever-shrinking map, where they must scavenge for weapons and fight to be the last person or team standing. Examples include Fortnite, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG), and Apex Legends.
• Tactical Shooters These games focus on realistic combat situations, strategy, and teamwork. Players often assume specialized roles in military or law enforcement scenarios. Prominent examples include the Rainbow Six series and the ARMA franchise.
